Therina’s Favorite Things! (It's just like Oprah's only you don't get anything!)

Here is my current LOVE LIST.

Book Stores with Cafes

I love me a good book. I love me a huge selection of good books. I love me a huge selection of good books and a cup of tea (and maybe even a cookie.) I love book stores so much, I could go every day. There is always a topic I want to learn more about and so many books I am excited to read.

I also love used bookstores with cafes. A random used book store in Maryland is where I picked up this particularly awesome literary gem: Entertaining Canadians

Socks

I love that the weather is getting a little chilly so I can break out all my cute winter socks. (Note: This is the only thing I like about cold weather.)  I have an extensive collection, and also a very well fed Sock Monster named, Lawrence P. Socko. This was the goth pair I wore today.

Iced Tea

Yes, I am aware that it is getting colder outside but I still life a cold refreshing beverage! I especially love one with a little kick of caffeine. I've recently sworn off soda and since then have been drinking lots of teas. I stumbled upon Lipton Cold Brew and can't get enough of it! I like my tea plain with no sweeteners. Sometimes a tiny squeeze of fresh lemon. Black Iced Tea is also the only beverage I will drink at a Starbucks.

The 365 Kittens A Year Calendar

OMG. Do I even need to describe WHY this is so awesome!?!?! I get to wake up every day to another adorable kitten photo. What could be better than that?

Blue Nail Polish

Specifically Sally Hansen brand Quick Dry in Brisk Blue. I’ll admit- it doesn’t last very long. (Bummer.) But I am an active gal who plays guitar for hours every day, so what can I expect? It does look super cool though!

Monster High Dolls

Thankfully I have a niece who is 8 that I can play with because these dolls are SO COOL. If loving these dolls is wrong (because of my obvious maturity) I don’t want to be right!

When I am as rich as Oprah everyone in the audience will get each one of these items packed neatly beneath their chair.

I Never Wanted To Be A Princess

On October 23rd at Martini Red, I performed David Bowie's classics and graced the stage as Ziggy Stardust's illegitimate half alien-half human daughter, Therina Stardust.

As a child I was obsessed with David Bowie and Freddie Mercury. (You can imagine my parent's concern while other elementary school kids listened to New Kids On The Block and I was singing, "Fat Bottomed Girls".)

I had to go to Sephora to buy the makeup. Holy Glitter Mascara- that store is awesome! Believe it or not, I don't wear makeup that much. Only when I do shows or go to special events. Every day life- I MIGHT put on lipstick. MIGHT. I usually buy my makeup at Walgreens and I honestly never set foot in a Sephora before. I can see how so many people spend tons of cash in that place. A pink eyeshadow and a blue eyeshadow rang up to: $50!

The results= Priceless!

My dear friend and make up artist, Chrissy Stanley helped me out with the lightening bolt. (FYI: I'm too near sighted and spastic to do my own complicated eye makeup.) Chrissy is used to doing formal events (weddings) not glam rock circa 1972 events but she did a fantastic job!

Although, I don't know why more brides don't dress as David Bowie. I would totally walk down the aisle dressed like this:

The show was great. I was backed by the wonderful Spider Proxies, LTD.

The background projection images were provided by the artistic eyes at Mettacreative. I got to live out my childhood fantasy of BEING David Bowie for a night. Which is an odd childhood fantasy for most little girls who dream of being princesses. I used to dream of being a pseudo-drag queen. Hmmmm....

Here's a little snippet of the show:

That night I went to sleep in a bed full of glitter.
